Every week day morning between 60 and 70 disadvantaged
pre-school children are collected from home and taken to the
Mango Tree Pre-Primary School at Mango House. Pre-primary
school gives children a huge hand up by preparing them to
enter school. The children learn basic English and Marathi,
count, learn simple words and phrases, have fun and play.
Milk and biscuits are given mid morning and lunch when
studies are over. The morning finishes with tooth brushing
before the children head for home. Without this assistance
children would really struggle in the initial years at
primary school but with it children's confidence,
self-esteem and behaviour all develop making their
transition to primary school so much easier. |
