BRICK BY BRICK APPEAL PROGRESS 31-Dec
As we reach the end of the year we are celebrating our progress towards having the £85,000 we need to build The Mango Tree House - a pre-primary school and afternoon tuition centre. Our campaign started in June 2015 and we are both thrilled and amazed to report that we have 87% (£74,300) of the funds needed in hand. The funds have come from many different sources. We are grateful for all it but a particular source of joy is the participation in our Buy A Brick Scheme. So many of our Mango House walls are covered in bricks and remind us just how many people have helped. To everyone who has supported our Appeal we say a huge thank you.
DELTIN STUDENTS CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS AT MANGO HOUSE 22-Dec
We are always pleased to hear about local organisations getting involved in projects in Goa. Back in November we learnt that the Deltin Institute, who have a training facility to prepare students for employment in Hotels, Catering etc, invited the older children from Mango House to see their Institute and learn what it cmNan offer and to gain some practical experience of a kitchen environment by helping prepare Christmas Cakes. The children loved the experience and were very happy to be treated to snacks and a gift too. We were also very pleased when just before the holidays members from the Institute brought the cakes to Mango House and entertained us with some carol singing too
AMAZING NEWS FROM MIND REWIND 17-Dec
Many of you will already know that Mango Tree has benefitted every year from the sales of Mind Rewind CDs. For those who don't know the CDs are released by DAT Records and contain past music from the Goa scene with all the musicians. collaborators, designers etc giving their contributions free of charge so that all the profits can benefit disadvantaged children in Goa. Over the years the CDs have resulted in donations of over £7,400 and yesterday we received the amazing news that a further donation of £1,650 had been made. The CDs are an amazing collaborative effort by so many which directly changes children's lives and we are enormously grateful both to those who give their time, music, art and other talents to make the CD possible and to those who continue to support Mind Rewind by buying the CDs. NICK'S PLACE SECOND FUNDRAISER OF THE SEASON 08-Dec
A huge thank you to everyone who supported the Nick's Place Fundraiser last night. Incredibly, given the really difficult currency situation, there wasn't a free seat in the restaurant and a staggering 57,070 rupees (around £670) was raised. The evening was fantastic fun with Horse Racing, Bingo and A Game of Smash The TV Ads. Big thank you to Linda, Bob and Nick for making the night possible and making it such a success and to John, Pat and Linda for helping the Mango Tree team to collect money for the various games and to those who brought along raffle prizes and lots of lovely things for the children too. It was an amazing fundraiser - topped off with a cake for Savita (centre below) to celebrate her wedding anniversary.

GILL YOUNG'S SHACK SUPPORTING MANGO TREE 15-Nov
Back in August the very lovely Dundee based Gill Young started a new venture - The Shack selling street food. Within days of opening The Shack was getting rave reviews and selling out. Despite the pressure of starting up a new business she was already planning a fundraiser for Mango Tree and at her first attempt raised a whopping £200 by donating 50p from every burger sold and with friends pitching in and helping too. The funds are going to be used to provide outings which will make a lot of children very happy. We say a huge thank you to Gill and wish her every success with The Shack.
THE 2016 CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE 15-Nov
The major fundraiser of every year is our Christmas Chalenge. This year a very generous couple have guaranteed to match every single donation and fundraiser between 1st and 31st December subject to an overall limit of £5,000. It's an amazing opportunity and we really do need to raise as much as possible. Please help us if you can by making a donation, asking your family or friends to donate instead of buying you a gift, or by holding a fundraiser. No amount is too small - we appreciate absolutely everything we are given. Read more and find out how to donate here.
AN AFTERNOON TO REMEMBER AT NICK'S PLACE 14-Nov
Recently the children from Mango House were invited to celebrate Children's Day at Nicks Place, an award winning local restaurant. Today 91 children turned up in their best party outfits to board the coach to Arpora. As you can see from our 1.5 minute video it was a truly joyful afternoon with lots of simple fun games and a wonderful meal and ice cream treat topped off with our favourite activity - dancing. We are hugely grateful to Linda, Bob and Nick for letting us enjoy their restaurant, for sponsoring all of the food and making sure we had an unforgettable afternoon. We were also pleased to meet new friends and old and say thank you to those who came along and those who brought the children treats too. Last but never least we say thank you to the whole Mango House team for planning the afternoon and making sure children had a fabulous time. As you can see they let their hair down and joined in the dancing too.
FABULOUS FOOTBALL SHIRTS 14-Nov
We say a huge thank you to Tom and Jack who turned up to the Children's Day party clutching 15 brand new Manchester City shirts. The shirts had been provided by the team's kit manager. We always get less things for boys in general and football shirts are an absolute favourite. We are thrilled therefore to have made a good start with this year's Christmas presents.

Most of the team at Mango House are observing the colours and as you can see yesterday it was time to wear red. For fun they sent their photo to a local paper and were excited to see it published today (bottom right). See comments for a close up version - We think you will agree they look fabulous.

A HUGE THANK YOU TO THE DELTIN GROUP 01-Oct
On behalf of Mango House we say a huge thank you to the Deltin Group for their generous support. Today 38 members and students of the Deltin Institute of Learning visited for the morning. They entertained the children, treated them to snacks, lunch and gifts and gave them lots of attention too. Later Savita and the team were delighted to receive a huge supply of food provisions which were purchased with the contributions of Deltin Staff. It was a wonderful and generous charity drive which is a huge help to Mango House.
